KARACHI (News Desk) – Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has addressed last night’s verbal spat between young Afghan fast bowler Naveenul Haq and Pakistani pacer Muhammad Amir, followed by a less than friendly chat with Afridi himself.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Shahid Afridi said that his only advise to the Afghan bowler was to focus on the cricket and not indulge in abusive talk.
“I have friends in Afghanistan team and we have very cordial relations. Respect for teammates and opponents is the basic spirit of the game,” he added.
It may be recalled that in Monday’s Lankan Premier League (LPL) match between Galle Gladiators and Kandy Tuskers, there was an extended verbal argument between Muhammad Amir, who was batting, and young Afghan pacer Naveenul Haq.
