Talks between Pakistan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) are likely to start from May 18, 2022.

The key measures to discuss will be the removal of subsidies on petrol and electricity.

The government is giving a subsidy of tens of billions of rupees a month on petroleum products.

The government might ask IMF to reduce subsidies in phases.
