Will the newly elected Joe Bidden have a fresh look over US South Asia Policy? by Khawaja Hammad Akbar
Will the newly elected U.S. administration has a fresh look over U.S. South Asia policy? especially over her support to India.
This question is been asking to people repeatedly.
In my assessment, the U.S. South Asia policy to bet on India to contain China has matured over a period of three decades, there might be a fresh discourse between the governments but it is very unlikely to have a change in U.S. policy posture and both India and U.S. will construct their relations on their mutual desire of containing China, and India will be U.S.’s most trustworthy ally. moreover, I believe in the order of preference U.S. relations with Iran and Afghanistan will be dealt with more care and consultation with India, which Trump administration seemed not cooperating with her own deep state in the last one and half years.
