Shabe Qadr – a night of blessings and forgiveness

 Better than thousand months, Shabe Qadr will be observed tonight (Monday night) with religious zeal and fervour.

On the occasion of Shabe Qadr, the ceremonies will be held at mosques to mark completion of Qur’an recitation. The mosques have been decorated with electric lamps. Women will spend the night at home in prayers while the men will worship at mosques.

The reciters of the Qur’an in the Taraweeh prayers and the listeners will be rewarded with prizes and honours. Sweets will be distributed. Sehar arrangements have been made for worshipers at mosques. Millions of Muslims bow before Allah Almighty on this night, offer Nawafil, recite the Holy Qur’an and perform other acts of worship.

They pray to the Almighty for the forgiveness of their sins as well as for the country’s security and stability. Seventy-five years ago, Pakistan was established on the 27th of Ramazan (August 14, 1947) according to the lunar calendar.

It should be remembered that Shabe Qadr is one of the most blessed nights falling in the last 10 nights of Ramazan, and is remembered as the night of blessings and night of forgiveness.
