Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to bag 38.5 percent of the annual revenue of the International Cricket Council (ICC) according to a new financial model proposed by the council.
The new model proposes granting a 38.5 percent to India, amounting to $230 million, thus making it the highest share in the council’s yearly revenue of $600 million. The other two nations in the “Big Three”, Australia and England, are expected to bag 6.25 percent and 6.89 percent respectively.
Pakistan is expected to receive 5.75 percent of the total making it the fourth highest share.
Other cricket boards including those of New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, and Afghanistan are expected to receive 4.73pc, 4.58pc, 4.52pc, 4.46pc, 4.37pc, 3.01pc, and 2.80pc of the total respectively.
The breakdown on the basis of membership suggests that ICC’s full members will get 88.81pc of the revenue while associate members are set to take 11.19pc share.
It is relative to mention here that cricket boards get the share in ICC’s revenue proportionate to their contribution to the council.
