While keeping a growth rate of over three per cent in mind, the federal government is set to present budget for 2023-24 on June 9.

According to the finance ministry, the annual Plan Coordination Committee meeting is scheduled for June 2 while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair a sitting of the National Economic Council the very next day (June 3).

The meeting – to be also attended by provincial authorities – will give final approval to the budget targets and discuss the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

It is expected that the size of federal development programme [PSDP] is expected to be around Rs700 billion; however, the prime minister may increase it to the tune of Rs1,000 billion.
