Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor and provincial advisor Zia Lango visit CPO Quetta, monitor Muharram security

 Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor, Commander 12 Corps, and Provincial Interior Advisor Ziaullah Lango visited the Central Police Office to assess the security arrangements for Muharram.

The Inspector General of Police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, IG FC Balochistan (North), and other officials were also present during the visit.

The briefing on the security arrangements for Muharram showed that over 20,000 personnel from the police and Levies force have been deployed in Balochistan to ensure the safety of the people during Muharram.

The services of the Pakistan Army and FC can also be utilised if needed. Sensitive areas of the province have been given special attention, and the processions are closely monitored through CCTV cameras.

In Quetta, 15 processions and eight majalis will be held on the 10th of Muharram, for which over 5,000 policemen have been deployed for security purposes.

During their visit, they showed their confidence in the security arrangements and commended the administration, police, and other relevant departments.
