Seven sisters lost their sole brother, Abuzar (12), who was selling fries when the bomb blast took place in workers convention of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in Bajaur.

The bomb took place in Bajaur on Sunday last, which claimed 56 lives and Abuzar was one of them.

Abuzar, a grade-seven student, belonged to Bajaur’s Khar tehsil and sold fries in the summer vacation to battle the economic woes.

The deceased boy first joined his seminary and returned home at 9am to sell fries in the market. He used to sell fries in front of his house and at busy places as well.

The father of Abuzar said he did not find the child when the blast took place and launched a search for him in the hospital and among the injured but to no avail. Later, he identified his son in the morgue, said the grieving father.

He said he first checked the wounded people then someone asked him to visit the morgue. A child’s body was covered with a piece of cloth and it was beyond recognition, he said, adding that he identified his son through his clothes.

An uncle of the ill-fated boy said Abuzar was an intelligent boy who was conscious of family’s financial stringency and wanted to do his bit to make things easy.

Besides Abuzar, four more children also lost their lives in the blast and they also left their homes to earn for their families. But the families lost their bread winners in the blast.
