Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has termed the arrest of its chief as ‘political vendetta’ and ‘political engineering’.

In a statement issued by the central media department of party, the arrest of PTI chief has been termed as part of ‘London Plan’ in order to get the level playing field for the elections.

“The order of Additional Session Judge Humayun Dilawar is completely biased and it would be challenged in the higher court,” the statement issued by the PTI said.

It added that the judgment is a dark spot in the history of our judiciary.

It is a blatant attack on the people and democracy of Pakistan, the statement added. “We’ll not accept this conspiracy and revenge against the most popular political leader of this time,” the statement read.

A local court sentenced the PTI chairman for a three-year term in the Toshakhana case on Saturday.

He was arrested from his Zaman Park residence moments after the court order and was taken to Islamabad.

Humayun Dilawar – the additional session judge – had passed the order as the accused – the PTI chairman – again failed to appear in person.

Taking to social media platform X, the party’s media department said that the PTI chief didn’t resist when the police came to arrest him.

“The decision of Humayun Dilawar’s Kangaroo court wasn’t even received in the court premises but the police was here in Lahore to arrest the party chief,” it said.
