The tribal elders thanked army chief Gen Asim Munir for allaying concerns of the people of the erstwhile tribal areas.
Gen Munir attended the Grand Jirga in Peshawar the other day and in his address to the participants, he said that 80 per cent of development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Khyber district were initiated by the Pakistan Army.
The elders said the army chief assured them of cooperation in education, employment and other sectors. The elders appreciated the army’s role in uplift of the province and in return assured their cooperation to the army.
According to the ISPR, Gen Munir said “the army, all the security agencies and the people of Pakistan are united. No power on earth can harm Pakistan.”
