PTI chairman shifted to Adiala jail on IHC order

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief was shifted to Adiala Jail on Monday following the Islamabad High Court order.

The PTI chief’s lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha confirmed that the former prime minister was shifted from Attock to Adiala Jail.

IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq on Monday ordered the authorities concerned to shift the PTI chairman from Attock to Adiala Jail.

The court heard a petition submitted by the former prime minister’s lawyers demanding that he be shifted from the Attock to Adiala Jail.

The chief justice said the status of the PTI chairman’s sentence had changed. As all the under-trial prisoners of Islamabad were in Adiala Jail, why the PTI chairman was still in Attock, the court asked.

The court asked Additional Attorney General Mansoor Iqbal Dogal that if the government sent the PTI chief to Rahim Yar Khan jail, will his trial start there?

The CJ ordered the authorities to shift the PTI chairman to Adiala Jail.
