The case of illegal allotment of forest land against former chief minister Parvez Elahi has been reopened.
According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the ex-chief minister had allotted land to a real estate tycoon for developing a housing society.
The NAB had sought the details of sale and purchase of movable and immovable properties of 14 people, including Elahi, private town owners and land revenue officers of Rawalpindi, from the deputy commissioners (DC) of 15 districts, including Islamabad, till September 25.
The DCs from whom details are sought include Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Gwadar, Multan, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Peshawar, Attock, Sheikhupura, Jhelum, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Faisalabad and Gujranwala.
The officers whose assets details have been sought by the NAB include Javed Majeed, Ghulam Muhammad Sikandar, Jahangir Ghori, Jameel Ahmed, Irfan Elahi, Syed Jamal Mustafa, Asif Qureshi, Anwarul Haque, Shafqat Ali Mirza, Tasawar Hussain, Muhammad Nawaz, Khalid Masood and Abdul Zahoor.
It may be recalled that Elahi is accused of illegally transferring Takht Pari forest land near Rawalpindi to a private person in connivance with the Forest Department officials.
