The Pakistan cricket team is in high spirits and now players are focusing on a big match against Australia scheduled to be held on Oct 20.

Speaking to a media outlet, Pakistani all-rounder Muhammad Nawaz said it was a bad day when India defeated Pakistan in the match played on Oct 14. Criticism was logical in the backdrop of defeat at the hands of India, however, it’s past now and “we have to move forward as we are here not only to outclass India.”

“Our main target is to reach semi-final and now we are focusing on the match with Australia,” he added.

He said Pakistani and Indian public attached expectations to the big match between these two teams. The team who performed well in the match emergd as the hero, he said, adding that the public hopes remain high in this match.

Pakistan team will play six more matches as the ICC World Cup is not yet concluded and we would restore our confidence after outshining Australia, Nawaz said and added that this match was important for both teams and could pave the way for semi-final berth.

The spinner admitted that his performance was not satisfactory in the last few matches. He would take wickets even in the middle overs and also contributed with the bat, he said.

“I will try to improve. The pitches are flat and plenty of runs will be scored here. We have to take wickets in the middle overs,” Nawaz said.
