The Pakistan team has taken a lot of flak for abysmal performance in the match against Afghanistan.

Former players such as Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq have shared their viewpoints about the team’s performance.

Razzaq has made a startling claim that there is “direction” to underperform, especially when skipper Babar Azam comes to the crease.

In a programme, Razzaq said he was sad at the performance of the team but would like to ask why Abdullah Shafiq became defensive when Imam returned to the pavilion. He was hitting boundaries with Imam but suddenly became defensive when Babar came to the crease, said Razzaq who claimed that it was a result of directions.

To substantiate his point, he said Shafiq was cheaply dismissed and for one, it seemed, he did not know how to bat. It’s clear that he got instructions from the captain. He said the strike rate of players with the captain on the crease made it clear.

People questioned Babar Azam’s captaincy so, where was the management, he asked.
