Inflation continues to load people as the price of electricity may further increase by Rs 1.30 per unit to add the burden of Rs 22.56 billion.
The electricity companies have applied to quarterly adjustments to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
They have requested NEPRA to approve a collection of Rs 12.12 billion as capacity payment and an additional Rs 4.61 billion for repair and operation expenses.
Sources disclose that Rs 6.61 billion will be collected for electricity theft and line losses, while Rs 10.24 billion will be collected for electricity system usage.
