Known producer Nusrat Thakur remembered on his 14th death anniversary

Fourteen years have passed since the death of famous dramatist, producer and director Nusrat Thakur. 

His fans observe his 14th death anniversary on Tuesday (today). Nusrat Thakur presented many memorable drama serials. 

The brilliant producer and director, Nusrat Thakur, was born in Lahore in 1937. He started his career with Radio Pakistan and then joined Pakistan Television as a duty officer.

He also worked as an assistant producer and later became a full-fledged producer.

He also worked as a General Manager PTV Lahore Centre during which he gave presentations and instructions for many timeless dramas.

Nusrat Thakur’s fame began with the drama serial Waris written by Amjad Islam Amjad. 

This serial was started by Ghazanfar Ali, but after a few episodes, the responsibility of this serial fell on the shoulders of Nusrat Thakur who made it a PTV monument.

Nusrat Thakur’s other drama serials included Pyaas, Ashahi, Nashiman, Dunya and Ghulam Rotam, Andhera Ajala, Raat Reel and Khat.

He died on Nov 7, 2009 in Lahore and was buried in Cantonment graveyard.
