Islamabad: Former Convenor of Hurriyat Conference AJK and the head of Global Peace Movement Jammu and Kashmir Muhammad Hussain Khateeb and President of the international think tank Institute of Peace and Development INSPAD prominent Kashmiri intellectual Dr. Muhammad Tahir Tabassum met here and discuss and reviewed current situation especially in Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu region, the killings of innocent people and the search operation against the civilian population were discussed and these cruel actions of the Indian government were strongly condemned. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the day-by-day deteriorating situation of the state and the weaknesses and shortcomings of the movement were discussed. The 78-year long unresolved Kashmir conflict has emphasized the need to take new initiatives to bring international attention to Kashmir. And it has been emphasized that the world knows that the state of Jammu and Kashmir was an independent state before the partition, which was made controversial in 1947 without the will of the Kashmiri people, but for 7 decades, both countries failed to resolve the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir, while the resolutions approved by the United Nations, the right to self-determination is yet to be implemented and India is making conspiracies to change the population in the state, which are condemnable. A positive environment can be created in bringing both countries and Kashmiris to the dialogue table. The meeting emphasized the need to implement these proposals and said that the majority of the state, including Muslims and non-Muslims, would agree to these proposals.
Both leaders demanded the restoration of the status of the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 and emphasized the need to find a peaceful and acceptable solution to the will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through negotiations and dialogue Deteriorating conditions in the region can be controlled. The unrest and bloodshed are increasing day by day in the state and so far more than 6 lakh innocent Kashmiri people have been martyred and blood is continuously flowing while the economy of the state has been destroyed. It was also agreed that we both countries, should get access to secular,peace-loving and humanitarian experts and intellectuals so that they not only help in solving the long-standing problems between the two neighboring countries, but also in the construction and development of the two countries, the establishment of peace and the eradication of poverty. It was also decided in the meeting that a comprehensive road map should be prepared in which all sections of the state can participate and play their full role. Finally, Israel and its ally countries in Palestine strongly condemned terrorism by Israel and Islamic countries neglect. In the end, while paying tribute to prominent Kashmiri intellectual Prof. Nazir Ahmed Shawl for his long services, and called his death a great loss and prayed for forgiveness for the martyrs of Gaza and Kashmir.
