Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday directed the Pakistani ambassador in Bishkek to provide all possible help to Pakistani students.

Prime Minister Sharif contacted the Pakistani Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hassan Ali Zaigham by telephone and directed to provide all kind of support and assistance to the Pakistani students. He also ordered the Pakistani ambassador to visit the hostels and meet the students.

On this occasion, the Pakistani ambassador informed the prime minister about the current situation in Bishkek and said no Pakistani was killed in the incident.

He said the embassy was assisting the wounded students. The prime minister emphasised to keep in constant touch with the parents of the students and provide them timely information.

PM Sharif directed that all kinds of medical facilities should be provided to the injured students, and arrangements should be made for immediate return of the injured students who were willing to return to Pakistan.

Government of Pakistan will bear the cost of return of students. The prime minister said he was personally monitoring the situation in Kyrgyzstan.

“We will not leave our students alone in this situation. Our government is also in touch with the government of Kyrgyzstan,” said the prime minister.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the attacks on students from Pakistan and other countries in Kyrgyzstan. He directed the Pakistani ambassador in Bishkek to provide all possible help to the Pakistani students.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said the Pakistani Embassy had provided emergency numbers and was continuously monitoring the situation.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a crucial meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed AlmalkIiy, at the Saudi Arab embassy on Saturday.

The discussions primarily centered around strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, cooperation across various sectors, and mutual interests.

During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation for the development of Islamabad police.

Ambassador Nawaf assured full cooperation in this regard, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s law enforcement efforts.

Minister Naqvi expressed gratitude to the Saudi Ambassador for assisting young personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) in accommodation.

The meeting also touched upon the anticipated visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to Pakistan, a development eagerly awaited by Pakistanis.

In addition to bilateral matters, the discussion extended to humanitarian concerns, particularly regarding the issuance of travel documents for Muslims in Burma.

Minister Naqvi highlighted the evolving nature of the bilateral relationship, noting the successful visit of Saudi investors to Pakistan, which signified the transition to more robust economic ties between the two nations.

He emphasized that the upcoming visit of the Saudi Crown Prince would be transformative, marking a significant milestone in the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Ambassador Nawaf reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Pakistan through various challenges and expressed willingness to collaborate extensively to modernize Islamabad Police using the latest technology.

Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s high regard for its relations with Pakistan, underscoring the importance both nations placed on the partnership.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed the hearing of appeals filed by Pakistan Tehreejk e Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his close allay Shaha Mehmood Qureshi against indictment in cipher case.

IHC ‘s Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, and Justice Mian Gull Hassan Aurangzeb will hear the appeals on May 21.

It is pertinent to note that the hearing of the case couldn’t held due to cancellation of court cause list on May 15.

There is a possibility that the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) special prosecutor Hamid Ali Shah will conclude the arguments on the case in the next hearing.

PTI founder’s counsel will present the arguments after prosecutor’s arguments conclusion.

Its is worth to note that Imran and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were indicted in cipher case (waving alleged state secret in public) and were sentenced to 10-year rigorous imprisonment on Jan 30.
