With same birthdate, 9-member Larkana family holds distinct world record

In a unique co-incidence and sharing much more common than just the surname or last family name, all the nine members of a Larkana family in Sindh have same birthdate.

They all were born on the same date of the same month.

According to Guinness World Records, “the family of nine consists of the father, Ameer Ali; the mother, Khudeja; and seven children aged 19-30: Sindhoo, female twins Sasui andSapna, Aamir, Ambar, and male twins Ammar and Ahmar. Remarkably, they all share the same birthday: August 1. This is a world record for the most family members born on the same day.”

The date is extra special for Ameer and Khudeja as it’s also their wedding anniversary as they were married on their birthday in 1991, exactly one year before their eldest daughter was born.

The couple saw it as a ‘gift from God’ when their children were conceived and born naturally on the same date.Ameer says, “it was all natural, from Allah,” and he didn’t intentionally plan for his children to be born on the same day.

And this is not all which is unique about this family, as its members hold two other records. The seven Mangi children also hold the record for the most siblings born on the same day.

As per the Guinness World Records, the title was previously held by five children from the USA’s Cummins family, who were all born on February 20 between 1952 and 1966.
This was the only verified example of a family producing five children with coincident birthdays until discovered by Guinness.

Meanwhile, being two sets of twins with coincident birthdays, Sasui and Sapna, and Ammar and Ahmar, equal the record for the most twin siblings born on the same day.

“Earlier we used to celebrate our birthdays in a simple manner, but now we do it a lot more and with a lot of happiness,” said Sasui.
However, the birthday cake is one for sure instead of nine different cakes.

PTI founder says he wants to clear the air about 2014 sit-in

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder says he is ready to face an inquiry into the 2014 sit-in.

The PTI founder, who interacted with reporters at Adiala Jail a day after the ISPR presser, said he would be happy to appear before an inquiry committee. He said the allegations levelled against him regarding the dharna (sit-in) were wrong.

He said the 2013 election was the one of returning officers (ROs).

“How can one hold dialogue with the government after the caretaker prime minister’s statement about Form 47,” he said while calling the elections of prime minister, president, Punjab chief minister and Senate bogus.

Holding out an olive branch to the powers that be, he said half of his family had men in army and half bureaucrats. “This is our army and we have no issue with it. I came to know about the May 9 violence when I appeared in the Supreme Court,” he said.

He said he condemned the May 9 violence while being in the court of Justice Umar Ata Bandial.

The army, he said, should not be dragged in politics. “We have not resorted to arson in our 27-year history,” he said.

He said the PTI dissolved two governments. It did not want violence, he added.

Significance of media talk

The PTI founder’s media talk holds significance as it comes a day after Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry’s presser.

The ISPR once again said the perpetrators and facilitators of May 9 violence would have to face punishment in line with law and Constitution. The army, he said, had the evidence of wrongdoing.

He said May 9 was not Pakistan armed forces’ case but it was a case of all Pakistanis. An attempt was made to create hatred between the people of the country and armed forces, he said, adding that it’s essential to punish the perpetrators to keep faith in the judicial system intact.
